The Oystercatcher seabird original irish art needlefelt.
This distinctive wader is just a fantastic bird. His striking colours always struck me a little retro so you can see the influence of the chosen fabric for the cockles and muscles ! This is a fun piece, light airy and much like the Irish beaches late september there is a feeling of restorative calm about it. Even the edges are really irregular and would make it as distinctive framed in a box frame to take the full qlory of his quirkiness to fore.
As with all my originals prints are available and the right to reproduce the image on other lines remains with me the artist.
One of the biodiversity series focusing on the link between our stunning native species and the forgotten weeds that are essential to their survival. I wanted to start these pieces to educate myself and share my love of nature. It inspired me to rewild my own garden and study the species that arrive.
